Course registration

Students enroled in GSSS English taught programmes

Students enrolled in one of the English taught programmes of the Graduate School of Social Sciences should register for courses by submitting their study plan to their programme manager.

Other students

Students who are not registered in one of the English taught programmes of the Graduate School of Social Sciences can in some cases register for a single course from one of these programmes.

These students must be registered as a student at the UvA at the appropriate level (Bachelor or Master). Students who do not meet this requirement will be rejected. Students from other Dutch universities first need to enrol at the UvA (as a bijvakstudent at the appropriate level) before they can be accepted for a course from one of the English taught programmes of the GSSS.

Please check the list of courses (downloads) below for the choice of courses.

It is not possible to register for these courses through Studieweb. Please use the appropriate form below.

* Undergraduate/ Bachelor level

Students who wish to sign up for undergraduate courses must have had at least two years of relevant university education. Some courses are also open to students with only one and a half years of relevant university education. Such courses will be indicated as 'Introductory level' on the course registration form. Students who do not meet the requirements will be rejected.

Exchange students who wish to sign up for undergraduate courses must fulfil the same requirements as specified above. They should use a different form, though. Please see the available downloads below.

* Graduate/ Master level

Students who wish to sign up for graduate courses must be registered as a Master's student at the UvA. Students who do not meet this requirement will be rejected.
Students from other Dutch universities first need to enrol at the UvA as a Master bijvakstudent  before they can be accepted for a course at the GSSS.

* Deadlines

The deadlines for registration have been extended.
You can still register for courses mentioned on the form if there are still places available.
If a course is not mentioned on the form, that means it is fully booked and you cannot register for it anymore.
